Is college worth it?

alot of people have grown up believing that you have to have a college degree to make it in the world;or that a college degree will help you get the best job out there. this may be true in some cases but not always. just because you have a college degree does not mean that you have the skills wanted for the job at which you are applying for. a college degree to me is just saying that you have went the extra step to learn how to do something that interest you. there are plenty of people that can do the same thing that someone went to college for and have been applying it in there life alot longer than them. a college degree is just a peice of paper that looks better. there are plenty of people with college degrees that cannot even get a job right now. the good thing about a college degree is you do expand your brain and learn more that what you would by stopping at high school. it also looks better when applying for a job that you have a college degree instead of someone without one unless that person just so happens to get an interview and has been doing that type of work for alot longer but most times that would not be the case.

mine whould be "get money". growing up in the hood and coming from a poor family i never got much as a child. i always told myself when i got older i would do whatever it took for my family not to have to go through the same thing no matter what. money is not everything in life but it sure makes it a whole lot easier. i started in the construction feild when i was eight working with my uncle roofing trying to make some money. since then i have been in just about every type of construction feild you can think of. when it comes to hands on work i love it, i just get bored with the same thing over time so i start something else. if it makes money i love to do it. i want alot because i never had. now i get out there and make a way for something i like and my children usually get what they want to. this is why the saying "get money" stays in my head or when i see it it reminds me.

stem cell research

for years and years our goverment waste alot of money on things that dont amount to nothing. take military bases for instance; the goverment gives them a certain amount of money to spend each year and if they do not spend all of it their allowance for the next year drops. what the military will do is blow how ever much they have left to make sure they get the same amount each year. the goverment could take all the left over money that is being blown by the military and put it to something postive like funding stem cell research which not only helps the adults but the children also which is alot more important because they are the future.

Is the internet "good or bad"?

i think the internet is a great way of learning. there is so much knowleged to learn from. unlike a book or artical that could take a good part of the day to read the internet can find multiple of the same items for you to read through at a much faster rate. say you are not a great reader, the internet has interactive videos that will read to you. it is like a never ending cycle of learning. it is also a new way of learning. some might think this is a bad thing but i like to think of it as a better way. from it saving you money from buying something to use one time or finding the best deal out there and not getting ripped off by another store or person. like i said this is a never ending way of learning. everything one can think of one can do. if something in my home breaks i can get on the internet and find a way to repair it. if the internet was not readily available i would have to pay someone to come do the repairs for me. take the weather for instance; say you want to know what the weather is like and you are running late to work and just missed your county on the television, no problem if you have the internet, pull it up online. the internet is still not for everyone, just multi taskers. the list goes on for just about everything out there. the internet is also more enviromently friendly. the internet does not have to cut trees down to publish books.

Television is rightly termed "The idiot box"

I both agree and diagree. It depends on how you look at it! Some television stations have fell off there "rocker" with some of the cartoons they put on. Its not like when i was a child, or when my mom was a child. Television has came along way though. The channels like history, discover, travel, and tru t.v. are just some of the channels that have alot to learn from.
From a parent to their children television for the most part is no good and teaches their children to be rude and disrespectful. Its not it use to be when i was growing up and television aired shows like brady bunch, sandford and son, and shows similar. Now television stations air stuff like family guy and alot of other cartoons that the kids are very rude and disrespectful to their parents.
Some of the shows are false and lead children to believe they can get away with the things they see on t.v.. The good things with technology these days is you can block your child from watching shows that you feel are inappropreate.
my oldest son use to love watching showes like animal plantnet.

ga new immigration law

i do not like the fact that people came come into our country without the proper process and work for a few years then turn around and go back home and live a wealthy life. or the fact that they can come over here with the proper paper work and get business loans, not pay taxes and so fourth when americans can not. i will say that i have learned that if we try to keep immigrants out that our ecomnoy will drop. alot of illegal immigrants will work harder than americans. this is mainly because americans take so much for granted. when they come into our country they are probably shock of the differences. they make due with the least amount as possible till they can go back home.

motivation

someone once asked me,"what keeps you motivated?". i love a challenge. the need for showing someone that you can do anything you set your mind to no matter what it might be. i am a twenty-eight year old student that can from a very poor family with a everyday struggel. i never had the things other people had. so my motivation would be to "life",to better myself in life no matter the cost. my motivation would also be my children. i have three of them and i want the world for them. i want to do everything i can for them.

"Why do people get married?"

Marriage is suppose to be a connection between one another like no other. This is what two people do when they expect to spend the rest of their life together as one, share eachothers thoughts, feelings, strugles, and make a family of your own.
Nobody can predict the outcome of marriage as one might like to. You might start out loving eachother and want to spend the rest of life with this person and as life goes on there might be a change, struggle you never dealt with that causes a different feeling for that person. You might not want to deal with something that has happen in the other persons life because you have never had to deal with something like that before. There are so many factors that take place in a marriage that can change your life forever, for good or bad.
Marriage is about team work. When you get married to take a vow to take care of that person for the rest of your life and should be aware of that no matter what might happen, to love and charish no matter what.

why that career?

i choose my career because i have been in the constrution feild since i was nine. it takes alot out on you and your body working in the conditions that come with being in the construction feild. i love to be hands on though and have learned alot of different hands on experiences and dont have to worry about paying for costly repairs if they ever come. i choose my career for my family. as i got older i learned it was not always about how much you make. you can make decent money but you have to have a goal. i started thinking long term for my family and what would happen if something happen to me where i could not work no more. i have no 401k, retirement, health insurance or any thing like that, so if i could not work it would greatly impact my family and i did not want that. i went back to school in 2009 at the age of 26 to get my ged after dropping out of high in the ninth grade, and then a year or two later started college to futher my education and hopefully get a degree in something
